Delete your Marv Inbox account

You can delete your account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page describes the two supported ways to do so and what happens to your data.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

  1. Open the web app and go to the dedicated deletion page: https://app.marvinbox.com/account-delete
  2. Sign in with the email and password of the account you want to delete.
  3. Review the warning screen and tap Permanently delete my account.
  4. You are signed out immediately. Your personal data is removed on the spot.

On the Marv Inbox mobile app, the same action is available under Profile → Delete account.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you have lost access to the account (for example, a forgotten password or an email address no longer under your control), email us from the address associated with the account — or any address that lets us verify your identity — at privacy@marvinbox.com. Please include your workspace name, your account email, and a short note confirming you are requesting deletion. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

What gets deleted

  • Your email, display name, and profile avatar.
  • Your password hash and any stored authentication factors.
  • All active sessions and refresh tokens — you are signed out on every device.
  • Your membership in all teams and any personal preferences (DND, language, signature).
  • Your mobile push-notification subscription.

What is retained, and why

Marv Inbox is a B2B workspace product. Conversations and messages that you handled on behalf of your employer belong to the organization's workspace, not to you personally. For business recordkeeping, compliance with messaging-channel policies (for example, Meta's WhatsApp Business rules), and audit-log integrity, the following records remain with your organization after your account is deleted:

  • Conversation history with end customers, including messages you sent.
  • Audit events tied to conversations you handled (without your personal identifiers).

These records are controlled by the workspace owner (your employer). To request deletion or anonymization of these business records, the workspace admin must contact us, or you can raise the request directly with your organization's data-protection contact.

If you are a workspace admin

Deleting your own admin account is only possible if another active admin exists in the workspace. Promote another user to admin first, then proceed with deletion. To delete the entire workspace (all business data), email privacy@marvinbox.com from the admin account — we will verify and process it manually.

Retention after deletion

Anonymized account rows may remain in the database so that historical references (for example, “sent by Deleted User” in audit logs) still resolve. These rows contain no personal identifiers. Backups are retained for up to 30 days and rotated on a rolling basis; a deletion request also applies to backups as they cycle out.
